GiftPolluwatch — Air Quality Monitoring System
Environmental stakeholders — NGOs, health workers, urban planners — had no accessible way to monitor local air quality in real time. Raw API data existed but was unreadable to non-technical users.
Built a web platform in Python and ReactJS that ingests live air quality data from the OpenWeather API, visualises it on an interactive dashboard, and uses Gemini 2.5 to generate plain-language insights and forecasts tailored to different stakeholder types.
Deployed and used by stakeholders who previously had no access to this kind of environmental data. Gemini-powered summaries made the data actionable for non-technical audiences.
The hardest part wasn't the data — it was the presentation. An AI that translates raw AQI numbers into plain language creates more real-world value than a perfect data pipeline that nobody reads.
